横山村位于竹管垅乡最南端，距乡政府约14公里，东、南、北三面与福安市潭头镇接壤。村内两个自然村为横山与坑底楼，合计194户；坑底楼有3户是畲族，其余居民为汉族。[1][2][4]

村名原作凤山，因村坊坐落在凤山山腰而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代，沈氏始祖沈材二为避兵乱，自章坑（今属鳌阳镇）迁入，至今已繁衍二十二世。[1][3]

新中国成立前，此地属武曲甲峰保；解放初归斜滩区甲锋乡。1952年改称横锋乡，仍属斜滩区；1958年成横锋大队，归竹管垅人民公社。1961年分出横山大队，1968年又并入李家洋大队，1970年重设横山大队，现归竹管垅乡管辖。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

村域海拔369米，以水稻、甘薯和马铃薯为主粮，另有茶叶种植加工和林木出售等副业。[2]

通往外地的古道有两条：一条经李家洋通往斜滩镇，另一条连接福安泰逢村。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

山涧里有一处圆形深潭，俗称龙井，潭口瀑布直泻，水雾弥漫，当地传说潭中有小白龙。该潭位于横山村西南约五公里处。[2]

光绪三十三年（1907年）始建的大王坑木桥，全长15米；成坑桥为单孔石拱桥，修建于清同治年间。村西北约三里有望山亭，为民国九年所建的凉亭。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
