坑头村位于霍童镇西北部，距镇区约21公里，海拔740米，属革命老区基点村。[1][2]

村名取自柏步村前坑溪旁原有的一口罗汉井，村位于坑溪之上。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子1958年设大队，隶属梅坑公社；其后与上洋村并为上坑大队，1964年析出，1984年转为村委会。[1]

1934年7月，宁德县苏维埃政府设在坑头，县委也在此重建。[2]

2019年6月，坑头村被认定为「第六批福建省历史文化名镇名村」；2020年11月，被授予「第六届全国文明村镇」称号；2020年12月，入选「2019年度福建省一村一品示范村」名单（茶叶）。[1]

2021年12月，坑头村被评选为「2021年宁德市乡村文化振兴示范村」；2023年2月，入选「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
