坑头村在蕉岭县文福镇最北端，是镇内小组数最多的村，共28个村民小组。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
宋末族谱称这里为「大坑头」，属古梅州程乡县石窟都的员子山，因山上遍植橼子树得名。后来村中徐南乔中举，村名一度改作「永福村」。1912年前后，取坑水源头之意，定名坑头。[1]
1952年设坑头乡，1958年归文福公社；1983年坑头、谷口、东田、储村四个大队合并为坑头乡；1987年起称村委会。[1]

村情介绍（未注年份）：895户、2964人，林地25018亩为最大一项，另有耕地1547亩、园地1863亩；种植烤烟约250亩。[1]
