历史沿革[edit]

村名来源于村中一座山形似龙头。[1]

中华人民共和国成立前，此地属原建瓯的高阳花桥乡管辖，历史上是从古田迁来的移民村。[1]

1959年成立龙头大队，1984年改设龙头村村民委员会，隶属大历乡。到1993年大历撤乡改镇，本村归大历镇管辖。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村境在大历镇南部，距镇政府约1.5公里，村域总面积约3.05平方千米，下辖2个村民小组。省道204线穿村而过。[2]

福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年底把本村定为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
