西门社区在建阳城西，东边以西桥北路为界，西边伸到六公里一带（含水泥厂与考亭片区），南边是麻阳溪，北边延至螃蜞路坡顶，与林业局相邻。社区于2003年7月正式成立。[1][2]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

社区因位于建阳城西而得名。[1] 2003年7月成立后，社区于2008年迁至新世纪名城16楼办公。[1]

辖区概况[edit]

辖区面积约2平方公里，主要道路为西桥北路。辖区内的地名有西门村、小井垅、白云垅、大坡垅和大井垅等。[2]

据博雅地名网所载，社区内常住居民1378户、4492人，另有暂住人口435户、633人，统计年份未注明。[2] 社区设有警务室、多媒体学习室、社区卫生服务站和老年活动中心，辖区内共建单位15个。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，西门社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1] 2021年2月，社区列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
