西门社区位于汕头市潮阳区文光街道，划为城乡结合区，因在旧城西面得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清末民国初是棉城西侧城外的农村，城基拆除后归西门居民区，1994年另设西门居民委员会。1949年西门乡政府设在西门河墘祠堂，1958年改西门农业生产大队，1988年改为管理区，1999年起为居委会。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
辖区约3.95平方千米（山林不计），324国道和棉新大道在此交会。1987年起筹办西门工业区，用地62亩，建厂房28幢、共10.32万平方米，出租招商，经营服装、保健食品、五金、塑料等。1998年建风吹岩健身园，社区在2007年获评体育先进社区。[1]
