在康美镇政府以南约一公里处，有赤岭村，它位于东溪东岸，北与园内村毗连，南与福铁村接壤，离雪峰寺仅两公里有余。[1]全村1096户、3842人（博雅地名网，未注年份），耕地1283亩，山地80亩。[1]村名因土壤以红土为主，村民沿岭中平地建居而来。[1]2021年11月，赤岭村获命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

赤岭村的村委会设在赤岭，村名也由此而来。[1]1963年分出单独成立赤岭大队；1984年起归康美乡，1988年起归康美镇，两度都以赤岭村民委员会为基层组织。[1]

地理环境[edit]

聚落在尖山北侧的盆地里展开，由古长寨、东渲、池后、中埔头与赤岭五个自然村构成。[1]村西是南洪公路，村内另有福芸公路，村东有省道307线经过。[1]

经济与设施[edit]

稻米、甘蔗、麦类与甘薯是这里的作物，树上结龙眼和桃子。[1]村里设碾米厂、电灌站，还有医疗所与小学。[1]

文化[edit]

村内留有明末清初的古建筑。中埔头自然村有一座古大厝，建于明末，三落两护，后有梳装楼。[2]赤岭自然村的古大厝依山势而建。[2]
