龙头村是湖村镇下辖的行政村，2019年12月入选第一批国家森林乡村，2021年11月被命名为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]

2024年6月，龙头村列入第四批高级版绿盈乡村名单。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取自所在地形似龙头，「龙头」在这里只指地势。[1]

龙头一带的村落始建于宋代中叶，民国时属湖峰乡陈家保。1958年设龙头大队，1984年改设龙头村。[1]
