龙头村是透堡镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区东部，距镇址2.5公里，濒临罗源湾。村名来自境内的山，山形似龙头。[1]

明代嘉靖年间，为抗御倭寇，人们在龙头山上建了烽火台，现存遗址已列为县级文物保护单位。2021年11月，龙头村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后，村庄属连江县第六区管辖，区政府也曾设于本村。1958年前后属马鼻公社，为龙头大队；1984年，马鼻乡设龙头村民委员会。1990年10月，本村与马鼻其余7个村分出，组成透堡乡；1992年8月改为透堡镇。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

据博雅地名网，2008年全村41个姓，刘姓1253人，占71.2%。改革开放后，村中发展过浅海滩捕捞与滩涂海产养殖。鲶肉、鲶卤是本村的特产。[1]
