上塘街道是杭州市拱墅区下辖的街道，位于区境中部偏东，因流经辖区的上塘河得名。[1]2006年5月撤镇设街道，辖10个社区。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期这一带隶属杭县，1927年后分属杭州市湖墅区与第八区，1949年5月划入拱墅区。[3]1952年设上塘区，1956年撤区后，原潮王乡与草庵乡合并为东新乡。[3]

1961年分设上塘、祥符两公社，均属拱墅区；1969年划归杭州市郊区，1977年改隶西湖区，1983年又归半山区。[3]1990年划归拱墅区；其后于1994年建镇，2006年5月改为街道。[1][3][4]

地理环境[edit]

街道位于拱墅区中部偏东，京杭大运河与上塘河在境内交汇。[2][4]辖区面积，据博雅地名网为9.6平方公里，据百度百科为13.5平方千米。[1][4]

人口[edit]

百度百科载，2011年末街道总人口30516人。[4]博雅地名网称街道常住人口3万余人，另有近12万在册外来人口。[1]

经济[edit]

电子商务集中在建华文创园和「杭州（中国）网商城」一带，锦昌大厦是现代金融服务业的中心。[2]「上塘电商小镇」是街道的产业平台。[2]

2022年11月，街道被确定为「浙江省数字生活新服务特色镇」，创建方向为数字商贸与数字文旅。[1]

文化[edit]

辖区内大专院校众多，「浙江大学城市学院」、「浙江树人大学」等十余所大中专院校设在这里，此地也有「第二文教区」之称。[1][2]

「浙江诗人之家」、「浙江文学创作基地」等文学机构也设在街道内。[2]
