高畲村在蕉城镇的山区，辖10个村民小组，村情材料载有180户、604人，总面积10.003平方千米，是镇内面积最大、人口较少的行政村。旧称高坳背，土地改革后改叫高畲。[1]
地名由来与沿革[edit]
村子位于山区，山高坡陡，聚落分散，原先出入要经石子缺山，村落在山坳背后，叫高坳背；山间平地两侧皆山，路窄难行，人们住在山上或山下的坑窝里。土改后改名高畲。[1]
1933年立高畲乡，1950年为兴福乡所辖的村，1958年改生产大队，1983年又在兴福区下立乡；1999年起称高畲村委会；2004年兴福镇撤销，归入蕉城镇。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
耕地约777.14亩，种水稻、果树和蔬菜；当年村特色经济收入84万元，农村经济总收入252万元。[1]
2019年9月，高畲村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」。[1]
