湖谷村属蕉城镇，辖15个村民小组，村情材料载有663户、2161人，总面积2.774平方千米。它由湖沟、谷仓两个村合并而成，各取一字得名。[1]
地名由来与沿革[edit]
1983年，兴福区将湖沟、谷仓两个大队并为一乡，各取头一字，叫湖谷乡。在此之前，民国十年（1921年）这里属兴福乡，名湖沟坝；1950年分作谷场、湖沟两村。1987年设湖谷村委会，1999年起称湖谷村村民委员会；2004年兴福镇撤销，湖谷随之划入蕉城镇。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
耕地约819亩，种水稻、果树和蔬菜；当年村特色经济收入446万元，农村经济总收入1338万元。[1]
2026年3月，湖谷村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇；2019年9月，该村也列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」。[1]
