历史沿革[edit]
村在山区盆地中，上、下两村交界处较窄，从南坑、顺里流向梅江的小河穿村而过，形如扁担挑着两只箩筐。旧时村民多经此路去官塘圩。「罗」与「箩」谐音，「田径」指山间小路，于是称罗田径；因位于小河上游，后改叫罗田上村。[1]
明代隶程乡县万安都，清代隶嘉应州龙文堡，1931年隶梅县龙文乡。1958年划入梅南公社时，罗田村分为上村、下村两个大队；1987年设罗田上村管理区，1999年改为罗田上村村委会。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
李金发故居又名承德第，是李金发之父李焕章去非洲毛里求斯经商成功后，于清末回乡所建，属二堂二横屋的客家民居，现存池塘和西洋式浮雕；在2012年被公布为省级文物保护单位（第七批）。[3]李金发（1900年—1976年）早年在此生活，长大后写新诗、做雕塑，被视为中国象征派诗歌的开创人物。[3]
