守台村是梅县区大坪镇所辖的行政村，1949年前称薯田村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
相传古时今三台小学附近住着黎姓人家，地名黎坑；又传旧时常年干旱，田不宜种稻，村民改种番薯，村称薯田。新中国成立后，因四面环山、山顶平如台，地势易守难攻，改称守台。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清末属大坪堡，1948年为大坪乡，1949年前称薯田村；1958年编为守台大队，隶梅西人民公社；1960年转隶大坪人民公社，1999年改称守台村民委员会。[1]
