地名由来[edit]
据该页所说，旧时村里走出的多是俊秀人才，村民耕作的农田地势低洼，形似湖面，故名秀湖。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清末属大坪堡，当地是革命老苏区；1948年为大坪乡，1960年起划归大坪人民公社，1988年设秀湖管理区，村民委员会之名自1999年用起。[1]
荣誉[edit]
秀湖村于2017年10月由省爱国卫生运动委员会授予「第一批广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
