据地名资料，此地因处在宝溪河的出口，原称宝溪口，后简称宝口[1]。1987年3月，按惠东府函〔1987〕22号文批复设宝口居委；2002年依「粤民基〔2002〕5号」文，名称改为宝口社区居民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
