历史沿革[edit]
村子始建于清朝初年，陈姓先祖赞玉公率族人南迁，聚居成村。建制上，先是乡（1951至1958年），接着成了大队（至1978年），再是管理区（至1999年），1999年起为村。[2]
相传早年这里大部分地方被海水淹没，岸上只零星住着几户人家，刮北风时黄鱼成群逆水而上，村名由此而来。[3]
据博雅地名网所载概况（未注明年份），全村分15个村小组，共1028户3380人，面积17.6平方千米，耕地650亩；村内的红树林公园总面积约28公顷，是以湖泊红树林湿地为特色的专类生态公园。村子得过的称号有惠州市生态示范村、新农村建设示范村和广东省宜居示范村庄。[4]
