历史沿革[edit]
村子始建于19世纪40年代：渔民原籍潮阳县，后迁到惠东范和，最后在大亚湾的黄猫洲上岛定居。解放后先是生产队，后为管理区，1999年成立村委会。[2]
2013年6月，村庄整体搬迁启动；到2014年4月，村民迁入滨海公园旁新建的移民安置区。[2]
关于村名，当地说法是渔民原先停泊在纯洲岛，后来发现附近黄猫洲岛上有一处避风的塘，便叫金门塘。[3]
2019年9月，金门塘村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
