南乡村是迳口镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区南面。[1] 1953年成立迳口政府时，把大乡划分为小乡，居住偏北的称北乡，偏南的称南乡，村名由此而来。[1] 村委会辖区面积10平方千米，耕地3099亩，水田1020亩，下辖22个村民小组，853户2813人（据博雅地名网所载村情，约2008年数据）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
南乡之名始于1953年，1958年改为大队，1983年复称乡，1987年设管理区，1998年成立村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
人均收入约4500元（2008年）；主导产业为柑桔种植和禽畜、水产养殖，肉鸡年出栏13万只、生猪6400头。[1] 2019年12月，南乡村列入国家林业和草原局公布的第二批国家森林乡村名单；2021年12月获2021年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
