简垌村在高州市潭头镇西北部，与信宜市接壤，属镇乡结合区，下辖10个村民小组，户籍人口1895人（390户，百度百科所载，未注明年份）^[1]^[2]。

地名由来与沿革[edit]

村前的溪流上曾架起一条水槽，把水引去灌溉村旁的一片田垌，村因此叫「览垌」，习惯上写作简垌^[1]。1960年前，简垌与凤坡同属一个大队，1962年下放体制后分出自成大队；到1983年称简垌乡，1986年起为农村管理区，1999年起为简垌村民委员会^[1]。

总面积6.5平方千米，耕地约662亩，种香蕉、荔枝、龙眼；据百度百科，村里还种有速生桉约5000亩，年份未注明的农村经济总收入为765万元^[2]。

2019年9月，进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2019年10月，列入广东省2019年度卫生村名单^[1]。
