据博雅地名网，村名的意思是海边有座山。[1]
人口经济[edit]
共1505户、7688人，党员87人；耕地1173亩，沿海防风林带2300亩，滩涂1650亩。村里外出务工经商的人较多，在家的村民开发沿海高位池养殖对虾，面积达1530亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
海山1952年为行政村，1958年称大队，1961年一度叫海山公社；1981年分上、中、下三个大队，1983年合并为乡，1987年称管区，1999年改村委会。[1]
