茂新村是广州市从化区城郊街道中部的行政村，西边是白岗村，东边是光辉村，离从化城区约6公里，南侧有大广高速。[1][2]这是一个移民村：1965年，因修建茂墩水库，鳌头公社茂墩的村民迁到白岗与黄场之间重建家园。[1]
土地面积78.42公顷，分设5个经济社，2017年底户籍人口951人。[2]
