地名由来与沿革[edit]
「赤山」指泥土发红、没有植被的山，村又在赤山东面，故名赤山东[1]。据《戴氏族谱》，先祖自安徽避战乱到南雄，后迁居广州；到南宋度宗咸淳三年（1267年），第三世祖才迁到这里[1]。1958年，村从赤山村划出，称赤山二大队；1987年2月撤乡设村[1]。
经济与荣誉[edit]
集体经济以出租土地、厂房和商铺为主[1]。博雅地名网称，村里常住居民约300人，外来暂住者约3000人[1]。2020年至2022年连续列入淘宝村名单[1]。区政府网站把赤山东村乐隐大街列为石楼镇历史街区之一[3]。
名胜古迹[edit]
赤山东戴氏大宗祠在註礼大街，据建筑形制判断建于清代，2002年修缮；广州市于2011年3月将它列为市级文物保护单位[2]。
