历史沿革[edit]
宋元之间，杨氏在「杨大岭」山下建山背村，山中建两座庙，祭祀杨二郎和杨六郎。[1] 相传同治年间（清代），有枫下村的村民迁来附近立村，村名取「阔塱」的谐音佛郎，后演变为佛朗，再成「佛塱」。[1][2] 1958年成立佛塱大队，1960年分出山贝大队，1962年又合并；1987年成立白云区九佛镇佛塱村委会，2019年起属九佛街道。[1]
人口民族[edit]
据百度百科，2021年村里户籍人口450人，常住3182人；世代居住的村民是汉族，客家与粤语两种民系、方言在此交错。[2]
经济[edit]
村民以种稻、蔬菜和水果为主；近年发展火龙果等特色种植。[1][2]
名胜古迹[edit]
佛塱上南街的客家围屋列入黄埔区传统风貌建筑保护名录。[3] 2022年1月，省乡村振兴局把佛塱村列入广东省乡村治理示范村（2021年度）的创建单位。[1]
