西岸村是金鸡镇的一个行政村，明万历年间建村，称西岸，村内西岸石拱桥与金鸡岭石拱桥两座明代石拱桥跨罗贯水而建[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

西岸村始建于明万历年间，称西岸，属泷水县。清代归罗定州五都金鸡乡，民国时隶属罗定县第六区，1950年起划入罗定县第二区，1958年仍属金鸡乡。1959年11月另立西岸大队，归苹塘公社，1961年5月转入金鸡公社。1983年改设乡，归金鸡区；1986年改为村委会，1989年一度称管理区，1998年复为村委会[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

西岸石拱桥位于西岸村委会西二村，明代万历年间建，跨罗贯水，石条纵联砌成单拱，是旧时罗定通往东安县的要道[1][3]。1994年6月8日的公告将它列入罗定市第二批文物保护单位[3]。

金鸡岭石拱桥在西岸村委会金鸡岭，全桥长28.6米，宽2.8米，明代建成，跨罗贯水，旧时是通往阳春的要道[3]。它位于金鸡镇政府后，与西岸石拱桥同批（1994年6月8日）被列为文物[4]。

文化[edit]

1993年，西岸村被评为革命老区[2]。
