新圩村是广东省揭阳市惠来县溪西镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区东南部，龙江河西岸，东面隔河与隆江镇相望。村名来自此处设立的圩集。[1][2]

地理与人口[edit]

全村人口5362人（未注年份），土地1.7平方千米；水田264亩、旱园598亩，合为耕地862亩。作物有水稻、萝卜、花生、蕃薯和荔枝等。[1]

村南与镇前村相连，西面与溪一村相接。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

明初，罗、古、洪等姓来此定居，其后林、陈等诸姓相继迁入聚居。[2]

旧时龙江以西的村民要过河到隆江圩买卖，渡江极为不便，于是在此设立圩集，取名新圩。[1]

1949年后村曾称乡，办过农业社；1958年为大队，1983年至1986年为乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年起为村委会。[2]

革命历史[edit]

村属革命老区。1924年6月，村成立农民协会，8月组建农民自卫队。土地革命时期，村设立党小组，并于1928年成立赤卫队及苏维埃政府。[1]

1927年至1931年间，村中有多位执委和队员为革命牺牲，其中包括红军的军官与战士。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有玉莲堂妈祖古庙，土地革命战争时期曾作为革命据点，彭湃等人曾到此部署革命工作。[1]

教育与设施[edit]

村内有学校一所，教职工40人，在校学生713人，溪西镇中心小学设在校内。村中设有电视有线台，网络覆盖镇区，并是溪西镇的广播中心站。[1]
