新圩社区是广东省揭阳市揭西县五云镇的一个社区，位于镇区中心，是全镇人口较集中的地方。[1]

社区所在处原是五云圩。据博雅地名网，明末清初附近村民按约定日子来此交换农产，渐成集市，那时此地以五云洞为名，市集便叫五云圩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

八十年代，此地经过重新规划，圩市一带改称新圩。社区的前身1986年成立，2003年定名为新圩社区，沿用至今。[1][2]

按博雅地名网的说法，五云圩旧址重新规划后设立居委会，遂以新圩为名。[1]

人口与荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网载社区现有居民2776户，人口4722人。[1]

「2022年广东省卫生村」称号由广东省爱卫会授予新圩社区，时间为2023年5月。2019年9月，新圩社区上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
