车田村位于埔田镇腹地，三面环山，车田河从村边流向枫江。东邻马硕村和荖洋村，南与刘厝寨村相接，西面连着锡场镇的群山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

车田村的始建可追溯到元末。民国年间村子归枫口区梅北乡管辖，1949年属梅岗区；1959年设立车田生产大队，1983年又设埔田区公所车田乡，1986年起称车田村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里以种植竹笋、养殖牛蛙和山鸡为主，麻竹笋经深加工后远销各地。博雅地名网称村里的牛蛙养殖颇具规模，是省级的牛蛙养殖示范基地。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2009年，车田村获揭东县委、县人民政府授予的文明单位称号。[1]

2021年1月，车田村列入「第七批广东省古村落」名单。[1]

基础设施[edit]

十四五期间，车田一桥危桥完成拆除重建；车田村也建设了封闭式垃圾转运站。[3]
