中山街道原是广东省揭阳市榕城区下辖的街道，1992年设立，因辖区内的中山路而得名[1][2]。2025年9月，中山街道与西马街道合并，设立进贤门街道，中山街道随之撤销[1][3][4]。辖区位于揭阳老城区中心，内有揭阳学宫、揭阳城隍庙两处全国重点文物保护单位[2][7][8]。

历史沿革[edit]

1991年12月，中山街道所在地隶属揭阳市榕城区[2]。1992年，中山街道设立，下辖店马、南门、东门、永革四个居委会，各居委会同年成立[1][2]。

2025年6月，中山街道办事处仍是进贤步行街房屋征收的实施单位，征收范围涉及永革社区[5]。同年9月，中山街道与西马街道合并为进贤门街道；维基百科载撤销日期为2025年9月9日[1]，榕城区2025年度土地征收方案和2026年政府工作报告也记载了这次撤并[3][4]。

2021年3月，中山路等4处街区入选省级历史文化街区[6]。

文物古迹[edit]

揭阳学宫又称揭阳孔庙，位于永革社区韩祠路，始建于南宋绍兴十年（1140年），清光绪年间大规模重修，2013年3月列为第七批全国重点文物保护单位[7][12]。它是周恩来同志革命活动旧址，也是广东省的爱国主义教育基地[2][7]。

揭阳城隍庙始建于南宋绍兴十年，明洪武二年（1369年）县丞许德主持重修，2019年被定为第八批全国重点文物保护单位[8][13]。庙旁的雷神庙始建于清康熙年间，知县胡鹤翥是其创建人，供奉雷神；百度百科作1664年，维基百科作1663年[9][13]。

揭阳县署围墙位于永革社区，1993年曾以“禁城”之名列为揭阳市文物保护单位，历史年代为元至正十二年（1352年）；2012年10月20日认定为广东省文物保护单位[11]。

名贤公祠位于永革社区，是为纪念南宋名贤黄焕国而营建的家族式祠堂，已有600多年历史[2][10]。

「揭阳县青抗会、中共揭阳县工作委员会旧址」位于店马社区东桥巷23号，旧址原为启蒙小学。1937年卢沟桥事变后，揭阳的抗日救亡工作在中共韩江工委直接领导下展开，这里即是当时青抗会和中共揭阳县工作委员会的旧址[2]。
