南社村是文祠镇下辖的行政村，由埔上、寨顶、寨下、庵前、岭后曾5个自然村组成，主村埔上因位于平埔之上而得名。[1]

村史[edit]

埔上设村于明景泰六年（1455年），开基者为江必财，他自福建汀州淮阳迁来，同姓为江。庵前亦为江姓，寨顶、寨下为李姓，岭后曾为曾姓。1958年公社化后设南社大队，1999年起改设村民委员会。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

山地4678亩，耕地313亩。截至2005年，本村有111户、423人，农业以橄榄、杨梅为主。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，本村进入2018年度省民主法治示范村创建名单。2020年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予「2020年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
