历史沿革[edit]
村落始建于宋末，由福建的王、魏二姓族人来此开创，曾名富南村。明万历年间属富砂乡（又称内砂乡），富砂乡分东、南、西、北四社，该村在南面，因此称南社[2]。
人口与经济[edit]
概况页称村内耕地800亩，约1170户、5579人，有党员129名左右。毛织和农副产品加工是两大支柱产业，有三十多家企业；其中一家印刷包装企业2005年底开工生产，用地50亩，投资6000万元，为村内规模最大的民营企业[1]。
荣誉[edit]
该村获评过「广东省文明村」「广东省民主法治示范村」[1]。
