陈村社区位于虎门镇北部，属客家语系村落，博雅地名网称其1852年立村。村子由北栅陈氏放佃招人而形成，2005年由村改为社区居委会。[1][3]

截至2024年12月底，社区内登记的是337户905人，此外还有外来人口约8500人。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

建国后，这里先归东莞县第六区北宁乡，之后一段时间划给远丰农场。1963年并入北栅大队；1976年与黄村合在一起，称陈黄大队，隶属虎门人民公社。[1]

到1987年两村分开，陈村另设管理区，归虎门镇管理。1999年改设陈村行政村，建村委会，由虎门镇政府管辖。2005年，它转为社区，称陈村社区居委会。[1]

清末宗族械斗频繁，北栅丘陵一带的田地处于三角地带，鞭长莫及，村民常受赤岗、怀德等村的报复性骚扰。北栅陈氏便在此放佃招人，形成村落。东莞市政府网的村落介绍称，七十年代中期陈、黄两村分出自立，1985年两村又各自独立。[3]
