横塘社区位于塘厦镇，省道S358线穿过境内，西边连着莞深高速，东边接博深高速，交通方便。社区总面积3.69平方千米，共8个居民小组。户籍1219人，分住376户，另有约1.1万外来居民[1]。

社区有篮球场和小公园。综合文化活动中心里设老人与青少年两类活动室，另有图书馆、电子阅览室、棋牌室和康复室。社区组建的横塘麒麟队，经过专业训练，常在演出中亮相；每年还办迎春篮球赛、乒乓球赛和拔河比赛[1]。
