历史沿革[edit]
社区由原来的石井村民委员会改设，2004年提出成立居委会的申请，2010年得坪山办事处批准。[2]
地名由来[edit]
村建立时，村内有一口石头砌成的水井，因而叫石井。[2]
人口民族[edit]
据坪山区政府网站，社区约有3.6万常住居民，其中本地户籍者约3000人。[1]社区分13个居民小组：石井、老屋、上屋、下屋、李屋、岭脚、草埔、横塘、太阳村、望牛岗、石陂头、井子吓、田头埔。[1]博雅地名网引用的较早数字里，户籍者2141人，外来暂住者多达19294人，外来人口远多于本地人。[2]
文化[edit]
2022年3月，深圳市住房和建设局把社区列入「第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区」；2024年1月获评「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[2]
