历史沿革[edit]
1950年，新屋是杨茂名岭尾乡下的一个行政村。1952年划入吴梅县第一区（横溪），次年该区改隶吴川县。1958年成为长岐公社的新屋大队，1961年并进新联小公社，1964年又单独设大队。1983年并入赤岭张委会，1987年称赤岭委会，1989年恢复新屋之名，设管理区，1998年改为村委会[1]。
村情[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，全村人口3288人，耕地2230亩，林地3200亩，种植水稻、甘蔗、蔬菜、花生；有小学两所，学生340人[2]。新屋村在2018年度评选中被列为「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布）[1]。
