东和村位于三江河东岸，距县城约2公里，辖沿彼、上东塘、下东塘和廻龙湾四个自然村。[1]村名由河东岸几个自然村联合组成，取和气生财的寓意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年1月，三江一带设城西、东和、新和、城和四乡，由三江联乡办事处统辖。[1]1958年9月，东和乡变为东和生产大队；1983年冬又改回乡制。[1]

1987年，东和乡改为村委会；1989年设管理区；1999年定名为东和村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

广东省爱国卫生运动委员会在2017年10月把「第一批广东省卫生村」称号授予东和村。[1]「第一批广东省少数民族特色村寨」名单于2020年12月由广东省民族宗教委员会公布，东和村列入其中。[1]

「2023年广东省卫生村」称号在2024年3月授予东和村。[1]东和村于2026年1月入选「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
