坳头村位于飞来峡镇西部，是镇内的特色村。2026年1月，坳头村获评广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。村名由附近的鳌头山而来，1952年因“鳌”“坳”同音而定为坳头。[1][2]

名称与沿革[edit]

村子靠近鳌头山，原称鳌头村。“鳌”与“坳”同音，1952年改称坳头，沿用至今。1952年为坳头乡，1958年改为大队，1983年改为乡，1987年改为村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年又改为村委会。[1]

特色建设[edit]

近年来，坳头村的特色村建设既保留了传统建筑的风貌，又加入岭南建筑元素，巷道、菜园、桥梁和广场等处都做了改造。[2]
