坳头村是绣缎镇下辖的行政村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

建国前，坳头村属和平县金溪鳌头（垇头寨）。村民多住在山顶，四周山势向外凹下，因此原称垇头岗。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，这里设群星大队。1985年，群星大队变更为垇头管理区办事处。村民觉得“垇”字有陷下去的意思，不吉利，于是建议改用同音的“坳”字。1999年设坳头村民委员会。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

坳头村获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号，时间为2024年3月。[1]
