甘坑村是汕尾市陆丰市河东镇北面的村委会，是镇上较偏远的革命老区村，离市区15公里、离镇政府所在地10公里。2001年由甘葫村委会分设而来。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，建国前这里属大安公社，后改称甘葫大队；1968年归炎龙公社；1985年为甘葫管理区；1988年归城东镇的甘葫村委会，1997年又随河东镇建镇转入；2001年经市政府批准，甘葫村委会拆为甘坑、竹坑两个村委会，沿用至今。[2]

地理与人口[edit]

村东邻八万镇葫峯村，南到竹坑村，西至葫甘公路，北与大安镇梅林村相连。有甘坑（含甘二、甘三、甘四村）、桐元、中和、车田、黄塘山、社贝、九头埔、龙山角等10个自然村，410户3016人，吴、谢两姓较多；常住1216人，外出1800人，占60%。博雅地名网的介绍称下辖9个自然村，与村政府页的10个不同。[1][2]

经济[edit]

土地约1.7万亩，含耕地1.1万亩、山地1.1万亩，林木覆盖七成；主要种水稻和豆类，菠萝约100亩。[1]

文化与革命遗址[edit]

红色革命遗址有两处，在甘坑村和车田村。村里建有元天上帝庙2座，各自然村另有伯公庙一座；甘坑自然村的公祠里立有《严禁告示碑》，内容是禁止村民随意动土。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月，甘坑名列2022年度省级乡村治理示范村的创建名单；同年5月又获评2022年广东省卫生村。[2]
