东湖社区在甲子镇瀛江东岸，北面到甲西镇渔池村路口，南邻瀛东社区，西接两东社区，东连半径社区。[1]

辖区0.8平方公里。社区介绍称其成立于1987年，有2549户、11225人，其中常住1825户、9659人；党员106人，行政干部16人，办公地点在海边路294号，主干道有海边路、鹏湖路、新中路。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，元朝中期陈氏从惠来县陈冷村迁到此处立村，后来许、蒋、龚几姓迁入，合成东湖社。建国后，东湖曾同北栅社、吉安村、半径村一起并成两东管区；1987年下半年，它又只与半径村合成东径管区，1990年4月两村分开，东湖单独成管区。1999年恢复为居委会，2002年起为东湖社区居民委员会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予的2020年广东省卫生村称号。[2]
