村面积4.1平方千米，650户，总人口约4200人，常住约1900人，外出约2300人。主要种水稻、番薯和花生，村里设有小学、卫生站和文化活动中心，村道通国道324线。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，清顺治年间黄姓在此立村。1953年设神寨乡，含双寨、磨海等6个自然村；1975年磨海大队一分为三，上神山、下神山组成“双山大队”；1986年与双寨、磨海合为磨海乡，1988年撤乡改村委会，与二者分设，属城东镇；1999年成为双山村民委员会，沿用至今。2020年12月获2020年广东省卫生村称号。[2]
