村土地2342.62亩，户籍人口3015人，常住1975人，离街道办事处5公里。村以农业为主，靠几家种植专业合作社带动就业，并修缮了水利沟渠；还计划流转埔田村的大磨头、英婆蓝、小磨坑、戌桶坑四处土地，办枸杞菜种植、加工和旅游相结合的产业基地。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，明洪武年间薛、文、吴等姓从惠来县览表迁来立村，之后陈姓自邻乡迁入。清雍正九年陆丰置县，称坊廓都一图磨海村。建国初期隶一区神寨乡，1965年称磨海大队，1975年与双寨、双山分设。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月，磨海村得到省爱卫会授予的卫生村称号；2022年1月，省乡村振兴局将其列为乡村治理示范村创建单位；到2026年1月，又在广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村中榜上有名。[2]
