上陈村在城东街道，西连陆丰市区，是革命老区村，辖上陈、双墩、东莞围3个自然村。[1]

村的东面是水墘、磨海，南面是东埔，北面与河东镇后坎村接壤。全村2230户，户籍14680人，常住9438人，共8个村民小组。[1]
古迹[edit]
村里留有元代烽火台和明洪武年间开建的天后宫、元天上帝宫，以及第一区农会、上陈乡农会的旧址，天后宫是陆丰市公布的县级文物保护单位。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，上陈乡设于1952年，当时归第一区（即军潭区）；军潭区1957年撤销后并入炎龙大乡，次年公社化，成立上陈大队。1983年恢复乡的名称，1987年变为村委会，归城东镇，其后1994年曾称管理区，1999年又改回村委会。[2]
