城东街道在陆丰市的东郊，隶属广东省汕尾市陆丰市，辖1个社区和10个行政村。其前身是1987年设立的城东镇，2004年1月改为街道。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清雍正九年（1731年）陆丰立县，这一带归陆丰县坊廓都。民国年间，辖地一部分归附城区，一部分归东海镇；1949年之后编入一区。1956年先分成两城、河东、炎龙三个大乡，1957年年初三乡归并，称炎龙乡；翌年建炎龙公社，到1984年，公社撤销，改设炎龙区。[1]

1987年4月，炎龙区改为城东镇。十年后的1997年秋，镇里的后坎、欧厝、高田、浮洲等共8个管理区被析出，另立河东镇。城东镇在2004年1月更名为街道，2022年10月街道又举行了挂牌。[1]

博雅地名网称，街道因临近乌坎港、驻地在市区东侧而得名。[3]

地理环境[edit]

街道东面是博美镇，西面是东海街道，南面是金厢镇，北面是河东镇。辖区土地面积64.72平方千米，既有山地和耕地，也有滩涂。街道自述其约三分之二的土地已划入陆城的市区总体规划。[2]

国道324线、深汕高速公路和厦深铁路经过境内，设有深汕高速的霞湖出入口，厦深高铁的陆丰站也在辖区内。陆丰市人民医院和多个市直部门的机构也设在街道辖区。[2]

人口[edit]

街道称总人口8万多人，分47个村民小组；2020年第七次全国人口普查的结果为5.89万人，在陆丰各镇街中排第7位。[2][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

福山天后宫

福山天后宫在霞湖，建于清代，2004年12月31日被公布为陆丰市文物保护单位。[4][5]当地的说法是：雍正年间陆丰建县，县衙选址落在陆城一户林姓盐商的祖宅上，林家迁往自家的盐仓所在地，即今霞湖，并把祠堂里的妈祖牌位请去，在霞湖寨另建宫庙供奉；霞湖后来在1962年并入军潭大队。[4][7]

宫庙在“文革”时被毁，20世纪80年代末由各界人士集资重建，湄洲祖庙的神像被引灵至正殿。宫庙及配套建筑占地8000多平方米。[4]山上另有一尊妈祖石雕像，高24.99米，由366块石头垒成，重2000多吨，街道称其为世界上最高的妈祖石雕像；规划后的整个福山范围为68.93万平方米。[4]

上陈村的古迹

上陈村保存着元代的烽火台一座，明洪武年间起建的天后宫与元天上帝宫，另有第一区农会和上陈乡农会的旧址；天后宫已列入县级文物保护单位。[6]
