城东村隶属新丰县丰城街道，明代县治迁来后先筑的土城，就在村内的大营一带。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
明隆庆六年（1572年），新丰县治迁到鸿雁洲，先在那里筑城，地点即今城东村的大营；万历元年（1573年）再迁至君子嶂下，也就是今天的县城。[2]
村的建制方面，1983年12月叫城东乡，1986年起叫村委会，1990年3月叫管理区，1998年恢复村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，城东村被列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位名单」。[1]
