南告村在南万镇最南部，位于万全河与长梅河交汇处的下游，因修南告水库而有移民迁入；土地面积7.3平方千米，下设3个村民小组，2230人。[1] 南告是南万镇名的来源之一。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后南告归河田区管辖。1957年撤区并大乡，属南万乡；1958年公社化时归河田公社；1959年从河田公社划出，成为南万公社所在地。其后，1968年设南万公社革命委员会，1980年12月改设公社管理委员会，1986年起改称南告村委会，1990年为管理办事处，1999年起称村民委员会。[1] 村下自然村有东风、上塅、南中、梅江、太平洞。[3]

南告水库与南天湖[edit]

南告水库于1974年10月动工，到1985年12月完工，以发电为主，兼顾防洪、灌溉，集水面积152.7平方千米。[4] 水库蓄成的南天湖又称南告水库，湖面约4平方千米，与神象山合称“神象映湖”，是陆河八景之一；神象山海拔653.1米。[5] 村内引资建有神象山公园。[1] 南告民宿利用原南告电厂的石楼宿舍（上世纪七十年代修水库时汕头地区知青的宿舍）和村中完好的农房改建，一期提供80个房间。[5]

经济[edit]

村里引导村民种青梅，全村年产100多万斤。[1] 村委与深渡村合建2座电站。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月公布的「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单中，有南告村。[1]

著名人物[edit]

近代名医罗毓和（1860年至1937年）是南告村人，字四季，当地称他“四季仙”。[2]
