新溪村在螺溪镇东北部，离镇政府约1.5公里，辖区内有热水坑温泉和粤东规模最大的乌橄榄古树群。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新溪自1958年起是生产大队，维持到1983年；1984年3月撤销大队，设新溪人民政府，其后村级机构依次叫村委会、管理区办事处，至1999年定为村民委员会。[2]

地理与人口[edit]

村域8.22平方千米，辖热水坑、塘陂、枫林、金星、石角、红星6个自然村，630多户，户籍人口3060多人；博雅地名网称耕地约1900亩，是镇上主要产粮区。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

热水坑温泉在红星自然村，水温可达58℃，偏硅酸、氟、铁、氡四项指标达到医疗热水命名标准。[1]乌橄榄古树群在热水坑自然村，连片300多亩、3000多棵，最老的树有四五百年树龄，最粗的直径1.1米。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

全村连片耕地800多亩，已流转600多亩，并拟开发榄溪谷温泉项目，2021年村集体经济收入46万多元。[1]新溪村在2019年9月被列入省民主法治示范村的创建单位；村里还有广东省卫生村、汕尾市文明村等称号。[1][2]
