河东村在陆河县城东面，河田镇与东坑镇交界处，村内是甬莞高速与G235国道的交汇处。[1][2] 全村分10个自然村，2020年12月获评广东省卫生村。[2][1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年到1961年，河东、高砂、上径、甘坪共属河东乡；1962年河东单列为大队。后来各阶段的称呼是：乡政府（1984年3月起）、村委会（1986年）、管理区办事处（1990年）、村民委员会（1999年）。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

村域5.6平方千米，林地5617.5亩，耕地1525亩；辖营盘、回井、高田、下半径、塘背、安子瑶、龙油下、水井楼、芋上、芋下10个自然村；常住10832人，户籍5333人。[2] 村情页记全村总人口4137人。[1]
