塘口社区位于肇庆市鼎湖区西南部，与永安镇相接，辖区约3.5平方千米，分7个村民小组，距市区7公里、距广利街道办事处3公里。[1]
地名与历史[edit]
宋末元初，梁姓人家从南雄珠玑巷迁到此处建村，村名原作许湾心（历史沿革页作许心湾）。传说村前有一小水塘，形状如口，梁姓第五代孙梁庆远遂改名塘口。[1][2]当地居民有梁、黄、薛、甘等姓。[1]
1955年2月归高要县广利区的塘口乡，1959年叫塘口大队，1963年同朝南大队合为一个，1986年又各自分出，2002年4月改为塘口社区居民委员会。[2]
经济[edit]
居委会概况称社区有425户、1315人，耕地1100亩（年份未注明），种水稻、果树和香蕉，鱼塘养四大家鱼；引入肇庆新港码头，并出租塘口学校和一家复合肥厂的场地，增加集体收入。[1]
著名人物[edit]
甘满堂（1906年生）是塘口人，1926年参加农会，1927年12月在“桃溪反围剿”战斗中牺牲，终年21岁。[3]
