陶东村是陶河镇中东部的行政村，距镇政府约1公里；以步雅村为东邻，陶塘社区为西邻，陶新村为北邻。自然村有埔尾、叙堂、小埔尾、岩田四个。[1]

沿革[edit]

新中国成立初属六区陶河乡，1952年立九区陶东乡，1958年成为陶河公社陶东大队。1963年陶塘居委会一度并入，到1987年5月才分开。[2][3]1984年改乡，1987年建镇后称村委会，1998年复设沿用。[2]清末光绪年间的叙堂钟圩就设在这一片。[4]

人口与经济[edit]

约460户2000人有户籍，约115户300人常住；总面积305.4公顷，耕地1034.7亩，林地5500亩。稻田约1200亩，也种番薯、荔枝和龙眼；小埔尾、岩田的150亩山坡地可以流转用来种果树。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，该村得名「2021年广东省卫生村」。[2]
